Science

Advances in science have shed new light on the more than human world and our place within it – from discoveries around underground ecosystems to efforts to understand whale communications to plant behavior and much, much more.

These advancements in scientific understanding – in dialogue with Indigenous systems of knowledge – clarify the needs and interests of the more than human world as well as the threats it currently faces.

The MOTH Project works with a range of scientists – from mycologists to marine biologists to botanists – as well as Indigenous communities and leaders to disseminate crucial knowledge of the more than human world, focusing on integrating this knowledge into legal and nonlegal actions and advocacy to protect ecosystems and communities.
