MOTH Academy

In recent years, observers have discerned a “more-than-human turn” across a range of disciplines—from law to philosophy and anthropology to the biological sciences and beyond. As part of this trend, a growing cohort of scholars and practitioners have moved away from anthropocentrism, developing and adopting ideas, concepts, and practices which decenter the human and more robustly incorporate the perspectives and interests of nonhumans and the more-than-human world. Altogether, these developments create a wellspring of new ideas, stories, and theories for intellectual engagement and learning.
MOTH works to make these new insights accessible to a wider audience. We do so with intercultural, interdisciplinary, and experiential educational offerings. Our programs are designed such that participants learn with and from the more-than-human world, as well as from leading voices in law, philosophy, the sciences, the arts, and beyond.
